A running, braking, shifting, and movable project ready for a new home.  If some frame repairs don’t easily sway you, read on.

This 2-owner, 1966 base Mustang hardtop was once redone with new paint, interior components, and an engine rebuild in the late 1980s by the original owner but hasn’t been driven much since the early 90s.  The undercarriage is the primary area needing the most attention (see pix).  Although the total mileage since partial restoration is unknown, the odometer reads 44,467.

The T code 200 cid 1-V straight 6 fires right up, idles and runs smoothly.  A new carburetor, fuel pump, fuel hoses, and fuel tank were recently installed in addition to an oil & filter change.

The 3-speed manual transmission shifts as it should and was just serviced with new bushings. Axle code “3” designates a 3.20:1 standard differential rear gearing.

The standard black vinyl interior with front bucket seats is in relatively good condition with 1 small seam tear on the driver’s side seat back and a sagging headliner.  Dash pad, door panels, and other plastics are weathered but otherwise in good shape with no cracks or rips.  The black, low pile carpeting is faded in spots and a bit musty.  All windows roll as they should.  The windshield is scratched and has 1 small stone chip.  All original factory gauges work as they should as does the original AM radio and front dash speaker.

The exterior Ivy Green paint still has a decent sheen but needs buffing to remove surface scratches.  Body panels are solid, chrome bumpers have some light discoloration, and brightwork shines well.

A matching set of 205/75-14″ whitewall tires with practically new tread are mounted to standard steel wheels with factory hubcaps.  A new master cylinder and all new front & rear brake cylinders were just installed.
