This 1968 Chevelle SS 396 is in good running and driving condition. It’s a 138 VIN meaning it’s a true SS 396. This car can be described as a running and driving restoration project or use it as a daily driver Chevelle. It has a solid floor and frame, and it runs and drives without any major issues.

It currently has a 1979 Corvette small block 350 with a muncie 4 speed transmission. The engine start and runs strong and the 4 speed shifts smooth.  The car was setup for the quarter mile. The Muncie 4 speed has a short shifter on it with a reverse lockout and the rear end has 4:10 gears. It has power brakes but no power steering.

The paint looks good from 20 feet away but if you look close there are a few issues. There is some corrosion on the driver’s side front corner panel at the bottom. There are a few spots where body filler is evident. The paint is dull and faded at some places and cracking in other places. Some trim pieces are missing off the outside of the car, however many of the missing pieces are included with the sale.

The interior is generally in very good condition. The vinyl seats, carpets, and door panels have been replaced recently. The radio, steering wheel, and tachometer are all aftermarket.
