Every Car Has A Story

1964 Mercury Comet Caliente – Every Car Has A Story.

A memory-rich, family history of a Mercury Comet passed down through 7 siblings since the 1960s.

It was decision time for the family car that had been enjoyed by brothers and sisters alike.  From grocery getter to high school hot rod to commuter car then eventually retiring in the 1990s where it sat for many years.  Sell it?  Scrap it?  The eldest brother had another idea and Fort Pitt Classic Cars was chosen to help breathe new life into a very adventurous resto-mod project.  An estimated 15 years of planning, restoration and customization, designed with the owner, created a classic Mercury rag-top with the benefits of modern automotive technology.

At the heart of the ’64 is a fuel-injected Boss 302 crate motor mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, breathing out through a custom SpinTech low-profile, oval exhaust.  This required moving the firewall and additional custom fabrication [...]

From rusted out and in boxes to a true vintage beauty! The owners dream is coming true!

Bronco’s are very hot right now!  This particular ’73 is getting a second chance.  The goal is make it as nice looking as possible but the key area of attention is making it safe and fun to use!

Lots of repair work is going into this soon to be beautiful ’56 Olds!  Dig through the pictures, watch the build.

We are super excited to build this car.  This ’76 arrived already on a rotisserie and stripped down to just its bare shell.  Metal repair is well underway.  Floors, cow and rear quarters were all cut out the first week it was here.  Door skins have been changed.

This one is on a restoration fast-track!  Pure focus to complete this show quality TA!

The team at Fort Pitt Classic Cars absolutely loves when a customer decides to breath new life into their classic car.  This ’70 needed and still needs a lot of attention.  We are straightening it out and are in the process of doing a full restoration.  Stay tuned for more pictures of this wonderful 70!

This 1969 Pontiac LeMans has received a number of upgrades from us, including a new intake, carburetor, headers, and high intensity headlights. We’ve also installed a brand new bluetooth and usb capable stereo and speakers.

This Nash is in our shop for a tuneup and to have a few mechanical items fixed. Our technicians are current diagnosing clutch problems and brake issues.

This Land Cruiser is in the shop because it’s four wheel drive system was not working. We were able to replace the transfer case and fix the 4WD. Now it should be ready to hit the trails once again.

This Austin-Healey came into our shop in pretty rough condition. We completed the body work by taking the car down to bare metal and smoothing out the dents without using filler. We then test fit the chassis and mechanical components until we painted the car. The last step was to assemble the car, check for imperfections, and reassemble. We’re very pleased with the way this Austin-Healey turned out. It should serve it’s owner many more years of driving enjoyment.
