The Original GOAT!  Arguably the original muscle car.

Let’s start with what this 1964 GTO is not.  This is not a numbers-matching car.  This is a well-done, well-maintained driver that you can enjoy as much as you’d like at a great price.  Brought to PA from Florida in 2005 by its current owner, the odometer reads 79,635 but the total mileage is unknown.  The car comes with a copy of the PHS factory order sheet showing all the options.

The 389 Tri-Power V8 mated to a 4-Speed manual with posi rear-end is an absolute pleasure to drive.  Smooth-shifting, great power, a nice exhaust note without being too aggressive, power steering, and upgraded front power disc brakes make it hard to leave the driver’s seat.  The owner states that cold starts can be “challenging” until the engine reaches its operating temperature so some accelerator feathering is needed at first.

The red vinyl interior, carpet, and headliner present like-new with no rips, cracks, or wear marks.  All factory and aftermarket gauges work as they should with the exception of the fuel gauge which doesn’t read beyond a half-tank, even when full.  It does register when below a half-tank.  The aftermarket stock-look AM/FM stereo has a cassette and 6-disc changer (in the trunk) with front & rear speakers.

Originally an A/C car, the components were removed by the owner who says to have “most” of the original removed parts if the buyer wants them.  Airflow is left to all windows that roll (and vent) as they should.

The burgundy exterior presents well but does have a few paint imperfections when viewing closely on the driver’s side B pillar and right trunk deck.  No rust appears to be forming anywhere on the exterior.  The interior trunk pan has a few light patina spots but is solid.  Chrome and brightwork are very good overall with some moderate peeling of the black insert trim paint.

A matching set of Firestone FT10c 205/75R14 tires with plenty of tread wraps the 5-spoke rally wheels.  1 PMD center cap is missing (easily replaceable).  The chassis is above average and rock-solid with minimal patina.

VIN: 824F30646 – Clean PA title in the owner’s name and registered antique.
