ODO reads 24,942 although total mileage is unknown.  This car was the owner’s late husband’s pride and joy and has been registered with Pennsylvania Antique Plates since his purchase in 2017.  All necessary documentation is in place to transfer ownership of the vehicle (and PA antique plate if desired).

The engine starts right up with no smoke and settles into a surprisingly quiet, big block exhaust note.  The TH400 shifts smoothly with no slipping or leaks.  The 350 ft. lb. torque rating of the big block Chevy pulls this giant like a car half its weight.  A fresh oil change was just performed.

The chassis and its components have an average surface patina yet solid with no rot.  The floor pans and trunk are extremely solid.  The front disc and rear drum brakes grab with confidence.  A new center link was recently installed.  This big Chevy rides like it’s on air with no rattles or squeaks.

The Antique White shines well on the outside with a recent professional exterior detail.  Very light surface rust spots are noted on the rear portion of the lower front fenders and a few nicks here and there but easily a driver-quality presentation with beautiful chrome and above-average brightwork.  Both rear bumper end fillers are missing but obtainable in the aftermarket if so desired.

On the inside, rich tan vinyl interior bench seats feature lever-style manual adjustment for the front.  Perfect dash with no cracks and above-average factory carpet with no wear-thru.  The gauges work as they should, but the clock does not.  The factory AM/FM radio powers up but is very faint.  The power convertible top is in good condition with no stains and perfect rear glass.  One small tear is noted near the trunk (see photo).  The interior-matching vinyl tonneau cover is included.  Recent service in Oct. 2023 includes a new relay and new cables for the power top.  The A/C blows cold when the sun is a bit too warm for the drop-top.  Glass is clear with no cracks, chips, or hazing.  All four power windows roll as they should.

Albeit older, the matching set of 225/70R15 BF Goodrich tires shows next-to-new tread.  Aftermarket chrome 2-pc. wire wheels installed circa the late 1980s/early ’90s show well with the exception of one missing basket.  We suspect the next owner already has a wheel upgrade in mind.

With a few minor tweaks, we see this Caprice easily going to show level or going full-blown custom.  Either way, you have a rock-solid foundation ready to drive now.  Just make sure this 19-footer fits in your garage.  Did we mention 454 Big Block?!
